“Three may keep a secret...
if two of them are dead.”
— Benjamin Franklin,
Poor Richard’s Almanack

Mystery

For forty years Johnny Duval kept a gut-wrenching secret... ‘til it killed him. Three days later, his estranged son, Jesse, returns for the funeral and learns his dad buried his 1948 Indian Chief motorcycle in the backyard. Perplexed, Jesse digs—and finds a body!
Homicide detective Charlotte McKane (Charlie) and her surly partner, Cal Simpson, arrive and suspect the yard could be a body farm. But clues are as cold as the body and the only ones with answers are dead. As they investigate they discover the truth is buried in secrets and lies. And Charlie keeps her own secret. She hunts her mother’s killer, not to arrest him, but to get revenge.
Meanwhile, Charlie is stalked by a hitman from her past who, like her, wants revenge. As the case heats up, so does an unwise attraction between Charlie and the buried victim’s son. But she must resist—or she could lose her job with its license to hunt killers.
